Beaconsfield, in the West Tamar Municipality and with a population of around 2000, presently has only one GP clinic. Dr. Anthony Lyall has been serving the local community for 30 years. After providing a long and committed service Dr Lyall is planning to retire in the near future. Dr G Prashanth Reddy had taken this opportunity to acquire Dr Lyall’s clinic to continue the medical services to the local community The new GP Clinic at 146 Weld Street, Beaconsfield and starting practice from 18 February 2023 will be re-named as “Beaconsfield Family Medical Practice”.

Leading the medical team will be Dr G Prashanth Reddy and he will be joined by Dr Anthony Lyall in a part time capacity and Dr Meredith J Webb.West Tamar Mayor Christina Holmdahl will formally open the new Medical practise to which the local community has been invited.
“The Medical Practice under the leadership of Dr Reddy is warmly welcomed by the Council and the community, as it allays any fears that Beaconsfield was going to be left without medical services” Mayor Holmdahl said.
“Dr Lyall has been an institution in the township for 3 decades and has contributed greatly to health and wellbeing in the northern part of the municipality. He’ll still be involved in a part time capacity, and we wish him well for when he does finally hang up his stethoscope.”
“Under Dr Reddy’s leadership the Clinic will continue to provide the existing high quality health services and care and the team looks forward to welcoming new patients with the hope to expand additional health services in the near future”.
